I got Luke's portrait of myself for my birthday, shortly after my top surgery. I haven't seen all of my body in a long time, in fact, I don't own a full length mirror because of the way I felt. Seeing myself for the first time in all my transbody glory was such a MOMENT. Luke took care to listen to the person who gifted it, and made sure to add little personal touches so it couldn't be anyone else but me!

I keep seeing these Facebook ads for portraits made of people's dad's to hang over the mantles or whatever. That's a great gift, and/but imagine what a picture celebrating a gender journey would feel like for a loved one. Luke, this picture is a treasure and I thank you heartily for it.
